Leaving Every Place Better than I Found It.

Some years back I worked in the fashion industry and we had a design seminar; our dress designers kept showing us dresses that were pretty simple in the front but had 'EXIT APPEAL'. I mean the dresses went from a simple split up the back to huge bows, beads, trains, buttons you name it! The 'EXIT APPEAL' became the highlight of the seminar. Pretty soon every dress and shirt we made left something to be desired for the 'EXIT'.

I wonder today if we consider, what is said when we LEAVE the room?

We have all been in a place where you walk in and it's stale or less than inviting. You feel like your arrival disrupted the present mood or the energy was so negative when you arrived you wished you had never come at all. But, what about your exit? Is the environment better when you leave?

Ladies, you can't win em all! I can't imagine how many different ways that last statement was received, lol. Nonetheless it's true. But, what is a 'win' for you may not be God's idea of a 'win' at all.

What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away,
will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one?
And if he find it,truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about
the ninety-nine that didn't wander off. In the same way your
Father in heaven is not willing that any of those little
ones should perish. Matthew 18:12-13

I had a hard time with this parable until I learned that the CONCERN for the ONE is not at the expense of the NINETY-NINE who DID NOT stray.

I pray today sisters that you take away a couple of things. If you are a Christian you are expected to represent Christ, to be Christ like. There is always someone watching you, perhaps it's the person who is on the fence about God's faithfulness. Nevertheless, I pray that you enter EVERY place with the intention to make it better! That your EXIT will be APPEALING and representative of God's splendor.
  • You may not shift the energy of the entire room but if you are able to pour into one 'lost sheep' you have done your Father's work.

If the house is worthy give it your blessing of peace. But if it does not receive you,
nor heed your words, as you go out of that house or that city,
shake the dust off of your feet. Matthew 10:14

  • Know when to leave! Don't cause a scene. Don't wish ill over those present. Let your Exit represent who HE is in you and leave!
I can't tell you how many times I left a gathering only to get a call or text sometime later that says 'You won't believe what happened when you left.' I can believe it, because I left when GOD said LEAVE. Each step you take is a step of obedience. You must understand that your purpose is hidden in HIM. So your 'outcome' or 'expectation' is irrelevant and should be released to HIS will. Ask God to go before you and prepare the room for your presence. Seek discernment while you there. Ask, Who is God requiring me to be in THIS place? Then ask God to guard your exit, so that your departure will allow someone to see HIM more clearly.  Sisters, once we renew our minds and realize, this isn't about US, than purpose takes priority and GOD wins! Pray the OUR FATHER prayer out loud daily to assist you further on this walk of purpose and patience w/ others.
