I walked in the front door of Holy Rosary Catholic school I was a 6th grader; although school had been in session for 3 months, I still felt like a new kid. This school was kicking my booty, for lack of a better word. I wasn't doing well, in fact I failed two classes that year and had to attend summer school. But, on this day the Janitor randomly said "There she is, Hey Smiley!" I smiled and said excuse me? He responded, looking me straight in the eye "I look forward to seeing you, you always have a smile on your face or appear to be helping someone else in some way. So I call you Smiley because your smile is your blessing to others." The depth of that compliment totally went over my 11 or 12 y/o head but the surface stuck with me. I kept smiling. When I saw him I smiled even bigger. When I went to coach class I smiled. I don't know if I felt like it was all I had but I knew the value in having something. My teacher left that school that year and she cried and said to me "I'm really going to miss seeing your face. I know you have summer school but it's not because you weren't good enough it's because I know it will make you better."
I shared that story to reveal something in you. That wasn't a compliment. That was a glimpse of A Woman's Energy. Even as little girl's we have ENERGY. Now remember, I started that story by telling you, 'that school kicked my booty' it did. I did not return to that school the next year, (lol). And in that space, I wasn't 'successful' by natural standards but in that space I found another piece of my energy. The piece that has since ALWAYS let me know that I have the ability to create and shift an atmosphere. THAT, wasn't my place to WIN yet I have so many beautiful victories from that year.
It's not about what you expect, it's about what you project.
You can Win in any environment... LEAVE EM IN AWE!
My Prayer is that this community blesses you sister. That you share your
energy so that it may bless someone else and that you interact in this space and know that whatever you HAVE is an offering and it will in turn bless someone else. May
Matthew 5:13-16 consistently rest in your hearts and minds.
In Jesus name I pray
Amen!
