Prayer for PEACE!

Hi Sisters,

In learning to read God's word with a fresh perspective. I realize that for many years I read my Bible because I needed something. However, rarely was I seeking relationship. I was seeking an answer, help, something! Today as I delight in HIS presence, I read HIS word because He is my friend. I long to be closer to HIM, to understand HIM, to Know HIM in every circumstance and that desire changes how I read HIS word.

For instance, I realize now that when the Bible says in Psalm 23.5
You prepare a table for me, in the presence of my enemies.
I read it now as,
1. I will have enemies
2. My enemies will be present as you bless me
and
3. More importantly, you will be present and you will bless me.

In reading HIS word like this, it shifts my perspective. It prepares my heart for whatever is coming. It links me to HIM with a great expectation of what HE will do when my enemies are present so It develops my faith in HIM. You see, HE tells us that we won't be absent of struggle or hardship but that we will have what we need in those circumstances through HIM. He is a friend that sticks close than a brother.

Suggestion: When you can, read Deuteronomy 8:2 It talks about the Wilderness,
but read it to see if you can identify HIS beautiful promise.

Also this holiday season please read Philippians 6:7 on your own but I'll use it today to set up the prayer I'll pray for you today.

And the PEACE of GOD which passes all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Father God I thank you. I thank you for each person who will read this prayer today. I thank you God that YOU lead her/him to your word on this day. I thank you God for your word and our freedom to pursue you openly and honestly without penalty. Father, I pray for PEACE. Your word reminds us God that you offer a PEACE that passes all understanding, so in the midst of chaos. You provide PEACE. In the midst of confusion you are PEACE, in the midst of hectic holiday travels, plans, errands, juggling families, broken hearts, loneliness, death, separation, obligations, financial stress and relationship burdens you provide PEACE. Teach us how to crave your PEACE, how to be your PEACE and how to expect your PEACE. Help us to pray over our families before we even see them. Help us to pray away the expectation of pain or ill feelings during this time. Help us to rebuke negative energies and expect your sweet PEACE. I'm asking God that you renew minds on this day. Align our expectations with your abilities dear God. Allow us to rest in your arms and seek PEACE. Allow us to cast every anxiety at your feet and simply surrender to your perfect WILL for your will, will be done ANYWAY Father. Help us to look more like you this holiday season. To carry the birth of your son Jesus in our hearts and thoughts God. Change atmospheres before we arrive dear God and help us to give you the glory in all that we do. And Father for every person that is experiencing this holiday in a "new place", inject hope in their hearts. Help them to know that the absence of comfort is the opportunity for growth and deeper relationship with you. In your mighty name, Reign Lord. Reign over our families, over flights, over cities, over the homeless, over death, over sickness, over emptiness, over finances and over our very lives. We expect your Peace, We crave your peace, we are your peace, Let Jesus be the center, Let Jesus be the Center, Let Jesus be the Center, in your holy name. AMEN!
