If you are feeling a tad bit of anxiety about reading the entire Bible in just 90 days, receive this word in your spirit.
I can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me.
Philippians 4:13
Perhaps even write it on your mirror, or make it your Bible book mark as we embark on this journey of obedience. In our last entry we asked you to identify your WHY, for completing this plan. So today we are resolved that you have already given God your YES and we are simply going to share some tips for successfully completing this plan.
It's almost like a diet (don't cringe lol) You are renewing your mind, you are setting a new standard that will effect your day to day activities. So the FIRST thing you want to do is make it easy to be obedient. Remove temptations. Specify a time to read his word that will not require you to stand on one leg.
- You version Bible App is your in pocket Bible. You won't have to carry a Bible around for 90 days. It's at your finger tips, it even has a daily reminder so you won't forget. You can also ADD FRIENDS to see your progress. If you are doing this plan with AWE or other ladies/gentleman we encourage you to be destiny advocates for each other. Holding each other accountable and cheering each other on.
- OMG, this may be the best tip of all. The YOU VERSION app, allows the Bible to be read to you! Yes you can actually listen to your daily reading! Now if you are easily distracted, make sure you are reading along and don't have other devices around to split your attention. This tool is so useful initially when the Bible is explaining the lineage. lol
- Read the Bible in a version that you understand. I love hearing the kinds speech in KJV but it doesn't always resonate with me. NIV and sometimes only The MSG, will meet me where I am and give me the clarity I need.
- Allocate a SET TIME/SET PLACE to receive HIS word. Ask yourself if my day typically starts off in a rush to get the kids ready or to get to work. Perhaps I'll need to wake up 30MIN early to carve out this time with HIM. Or perhaps my daily time will be as soon as I get home from work. Or maybe even at the end of my day before bed. Personally, At the beginning of the day is best for me. It sets a tone for the rest of my day. It requires me to place Jesus at the center and it's easier to create a consistent daily time where my family and/friends are aware that I won't be answering my phone before a certain time each day.
- Don't consider it a burden. Renew your mind daily, with anticipation of meeting with your father and hearing the wonderful word He has just for you. Understand that you are in a season of transformation and you will begin craving His presence.
- Add the Bible at the TOP of your to do list.
- Give yourself Grace. There are actually two grace days allotted. Technically we will be completing the Bible in 88days. If you fall behind or you are feeling overwhelmed with the commitment. Talk to the father first. He will tell you who to reach out to, who can help you through the process.
- Listen, it won't be easy everyday but it will be rewarding each day as you begin to see God remind you of your studies as your days march on. He will call to remembrance a story in the Bible that parallels your life. He will reveal answers to questions that have been plaguing you for months. He will give you peace about that thing that you seem to want more than Him. So this tip is to FOCUS ON THE REWARD!
- Finally, this tip is my favorite. JUST DECIDE by putting life in perspective. This WORD was created for me. This word does not go out of style, this word is not bigger than me, this word is all about me. He lives in this word! My savior, my redeemer, my best friend, my protector, my provider, my healer and if there is a place I can go to be reminded of HIS FAITHFULNESS, that is exactly where I want to be. Write down 5 things that are heavy on your heart currently! Each day enter His word with the desire to surrender those very things to Him. Watch what he does in and through your surrender.
